Beginning October 1, 2026, New York State will implement a new law providing a 100% real property tax exemption for eligible veterans with a 100% service-connected disability on their primary residence. The legislation also makes the exemption mandatory statewide, including school district taxes, eliminating the need for local municipalities to opt in.
